The Greenway Guardians would like to extend their sincere thanks to the many community members who attended the land use hearing on Wednesday, June 27 regarding the proposed Lombard Apartments by Evergreen Housing Development Group.
The public land, currently owned by Homes for Good (formerly HACSA-Housing and Community Services Agency) and directed by Jacob Fox, is located adjacent to Maurie Jacobs Park and is within the Willamette River Greenway. We would like to thank those people who provided oral testimony, submitted written/emailed testimony, or signed postcards opposing this inappropriate proposed project. The hearing was exceptionally well attended while many legitimate and diverse concerns were voiced. Thank you for supporting the River and Garden District neighborhood!
In addition to our traffic engineer submitting important testimony, our land use attorney, Sean Malone, presented some very important elements as testimony. Please take a few moments to support these key issues by sending an email to Fred Wilson, Hearings Official, via city planner, Rodney Bohner by 5pm, Thursday, July 5. Specifically, these key issues are:
The net density for the Lombard Apartment proposal needs to be recalculated as the applicant submitted erroneous data. The applicant has not established that the land is a legal lot.The applicant is assuming that state Goal 15 (Willamette River Greenway) is subservient to SB 1051 (Needed Housing).
Therefore, the application should be denied. Please take a moment to support this cause by sending the email below (or one in your own words).
